St. Luke’s House’s Residential Rehabilitation Program provides therapeutic supportive services in a residential setting, developed according to individual client needs and choices. Residential staff offer on-site counseling, helping clients to develop and accomplish Individualized Rehabilitation Goals, and assisting them in dealing with the pressures and challenges of daily life.
If you are interested in helping people manage rehabilitation goals, overcome obstacles and reach their maximum potential, you may apply for an internship or a volunteer position within our Residential Rehabilitation Program, in which you would be given the following responsibilities:
• Provide counseling, behavior management and crisis intervention for clients, as well as monitoring medication to insure compliance with medical instruction. Assist and instruct clients in residential living skills such as menu planning, shopping, cleaning, budgeting and participating in leisure and therapeutic activities.
• Assess client needs, develop goals and resources and coordinate client services, including quarterly provider meetings with the vocational and Life Skills Programs.
• Participate in weekly case consultations and staff meetings. Help develop positive relationships with neighbors and the community. Be involved in and contribute to program and administrative projects, meetings, committees, training and tasks as assigned.
• Maintain and submit client records, reports and forms. Assist with maintenance of facilities to comply with licensing and contractual requirements and in keeping general cleanliness standards. Initiate and participate with clients and staff to maintain the facility according to SLH and community standards.
Candidates need to have their own vehicle with no more than 2 points on their driving record as part of their responsibilities is transporting clients, when required by individual treatment plans.
