St. Luke’s House’s award-winning Career Transition Program offers transitional services to students with serious emotional disabilities who are currently in 11th and 12th grades in Montgomery County Public Schools. The program offers a unique combination of mental health and career/vocational resources.
If you are interested in supporting students with emotional challenges reach their optimal potential, preferably if you have previous experience working with youth, you may apply for an internship or a volunteer position within our Career Transition Program. In this Program, your responsibilities would include providing vocational/educational support and case management services for 16-21 year old youths by:
• Conducting skills assessment in the areas of work, independent living, family and social skills.
• Providing individualized assistance in identifying transition, career and/or education goals which include the following:
- Career education and career development.
- College or vocational education, development and placement.
- Family support services.
- Identification of supplementary service needs.
- Identification and linkage with community resources.
• Coordinating and advocating with community service providers, schools, and families to obtain supports required for a successful transition.
Candidates need to have their own vehicle and no more than 2 points on their driving record, as the position requires significant travel throughout Montgomery County.
St. Luke’s House offers excellent training, mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, flexible schedule and, for those requiring it, guaranteed licensed clinical supervision.
