Residential Supervisor – Peppertree

 

The General Residential Program is seeking a Supervisor for the Peppertree sites in Silver Spring.  This individual will be responsible for:

 

·         The daily operations of a general residential program

·         Supervision and scheduling of a team of 6 counselors

·         Oversight of clinic services, documentation and billings for 20-25 mentally ill clients

·         Management of budget and expenses for the team

·         Compliance with regulatory, licensing and contractual requirements

 

Candidate must be willing to be available for the Team during evenings and weekends.

 

Work hours may vary from week to week.  Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree (or Master’s degree) in psychology or a related field and 1-3 years of experience working with persistently mentally ill clients.  However, experience may be substituted for a degree.

Residential Counselor

 

St. Luke’s House Inc., is a community based Psychiatric Rehabilitation Agency, serving adults who are diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness. St. Luke’s House Residential Program provides therapeutic settings in supportive residential community. Programs are developed according to client need and choices. Residential staff offer on site counseling, helping clients develop and accomplish Individualized Rehabilitation Goals, and assisting them in dealing with the pressures and challenges of daily life. This program is currently seeking full-time Residential Counselors to perform the following functions.

 

Residential Rehabilitation:

Assist and instruct clients in residential living skills such as menu planning, shopping, cleaning, budgeting and participating in leisure and therapeutic activities. Counselors must also provide counseling, behavior management and crisis intervention as well as monitor medication to insure compliance with medical instruction.

 

Community Counseling Services:

Assess client needs, develop goals and resources and coordinate client services including quarterly provider meetings with the Vocational and Life Skills Program.

 

Administrative/Facilities Duties:

Maintain and submit client records, reports and forms. Assist with maintenance of facilities to comply with licensing and contractual requirements and in keeping general cleanliness standards. Initiate and participate with other staff and residents to upgrade the facility to maintain SLH and community standards.

 

Team Responsibilities:

Participate in weekly case consultations and staff meetings. Help develop positive relationships with neighbors and the community. Be involved in and contribute to program and administrative projects, meetings, committees, training and tasks as assigned.

 

All interested individuals must have their own transportation, current driver’s license, with no more than 2 points on their driving record. Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field. Prior experience working with mentally ill clients is preferred but not required.

 


 

Career Transition Specialist

 

St. Luke’s House Inc., helps people live, learn and work successfully in their communities by offering integrated mental health services and community resources. Our Career Transition Program offers transitional services to secondary students with serious emotional problems who are in the 11th and 12th grades in MCPS. The program offers a unique combination of mental health and career/vocational resources. The goal of the Career Transition Program is to ensure that students with serious emotional problems achieve their post secondary school career goals. Within this program we are currently looking for Career Transitional Specialists to provide Vocational/Educational support and Case Management services for 16-21 year old youths. Duties include:

  • Conduct skills assessment in the areas of work, independent living, family and social skills.
  • Coordinate and advocate with community service providers, schools, and families for necessary supports for a successful transition.
  • Provide individualized assistance in identifying transition, career and/or education goals which includes the following:

-          Career education and career development.

-          College or vocational education, development and placement.

-          Family support services.

-          Identification of supplementary service needs.

-          Identification and linkage with community resources.

All interest individuals need to have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology or in a related field, (sociology, family studies, education, social work); as well as previous experience working with youth. Applicants need to have their own vehicle with no more than 2 points on driving record.

 


 

Rehabilitation Coordinator

 

 

St. Luke’s House, Inc. is a Psychiatric Rehabilitation program, working with adults who are diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness. We are a community based non-profit organization located in Bethesda, MD and our mission is to help people live, learn and work successfully in the community, offering integrated mental health services and community resources. Our Supported Living outreach program offers psychiatric rehabilitation services to people who are living in the community. Services can be provided in their own homes, family homes, or elsewhere in the community. This individualized service has helped thousands of individuals struggling with mental illness to successfully manage their illness, housing and their ability to maintain being a integral member of society. Life goals and dreams which otherwise may not have been obtainable, are now obtainable due to community based Supported Living services. This program currently has a need for Rehabilitation Coordinators. Within this position you would be given the following responsibilities:

 

Work with approximately 15 clients who are diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness.

 

The Rehabilitation Coordinator will plan, develop, coordinate and document all services received by their client caseload including the Vocational, Life Skills and Day Programs. They will act as an advocate, communicating their clients’ progress to both internal and external treatment teams and ensure adequate communication is continuing between all treatment teams.  The Rehabilitation Coordinator will also work to assess their clients’ needs for living in the community and thus develop goals in collaboration with their clients.

 

To qualify for this position you need to have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology or in a related field. Have full access to a vehicle, with no more than 2 points on your driving record, as you will need to use your own vehicle for work. You must also be willing to work some evenings and weekends, meeting with clients in the community or in their own homes. Work hours may vary, allowing for a flexible schedule. Supported Employment Specialist

 

St. Luke’s House Inc., is a community based Psychiatric Rehabilitation Agency, serving adults who are diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness. We are located in Bethesda, MD and our mission is to help people live, learn and work successfully in the community, offering integrated mental health services and community resources. Our award winning Back to Work Program helps people with a mental illness to choose, find and keep a job. Its individualized service has helped thousands of individuals successfully return back to work. If you are interested in psychiatric vocational counseling and becoming a Supported Employment Specialist, you would be given the following responsibilities:

 

Work with approximately 16 clients who are diagnosed with a serious and persistent mental illness.

 

Job Choice: The supported employment specialist will assist individuals in identifying careers which match their abilities, interests and past employment experiences.

Job Development: The employment specialist will identify the individuals’ strengths in the area of job search and support clients in the following areas such as: resume and cover letter writing, interview presentation, accessing community resources for their job search and how to disclose their disability to potential employers. The employment specialist will work closely with each candidate to successfully match each person to an appropriate job.

The supported employment specialist will work with the business community, marketing the Back to Work Program, determining employment needs within the community and being a liaison between the employer and the client.

Job Placement: The supported employment specialist will assess the clients’ individual strengths with maintaining employment and determine where psychiatric vocational support services will be necessary. The employment specialist will provide on-the-job support to the individual and provide technical assistance to employers, promoting job acquisition, skill development and job independence.

Follow along services: The supported employment specialist will continue to provide psychiatric vocational support services for as long as is necessary
